COVID-19 Information - November 18, 2020

November 18, 2020
On November 18, Horizon School Division was made aware of a COVID-19 diagnosis in an individual at Wakaw School.

Families at Wakaw School are being informed of this case, and we are working closely with our excellent partners in Public Health to assist in the contact tracing process. Public Health will be reaching out to individuals who they determine to be close contacts.

At this time, it has been determined that Wakaw School can remain open to all students, PreK-12.

Further details cannot be provided, to maintain the privacy of the individuals involved.

We all have a shared responsibility to limit the spread of COVID-19. We thank Horizon's staff, students, and families for all their efforts to help mitigate the risks in this pandemic. We continue to require students and staff to stay home if they are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19. Horizon's detailed Re-Entering Horizon Plan can be found on horizonsd.ca, along with our new Administrative Procedure regarding Illness in Care, which details the process to be followed when a child experiences symptoms or illness while at school.
