On April 7, Horizon School Division was made aware of an additional COVID-19 diagnosis at Humboldt Collegiate Institute.
Families at the school are being informed, and we are working closely with our excellent partners in Public Health to assist in the contact tracing process.
Health has informed us that these cases at HCI involve Variants of Concern (VOC), and the situation at the school has been deemed an outbreak
.UPDATE: Following further conversations with Health, considerations around operational feasibility, and out of an abundance of care and concern for our entire HCI community, we have determined that ALL classrooms at HCI will move to Learning from Home for the week of Monday, April 12 to Friday, April 16, inclusive.
Further details cannot be provided, to maintain the privacy of the individuals involved.
We all have a shared responsibility to limit the spread of COVID-19. We thank Horizon's staff, students, and families for all their efforts to help mitigate the risks during this pandemic. We continue to require students and staff to stay home if they are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19
