LeRoy
School is one of this year’s recipients of the Federated Co-op Community Spaces
grant!
The school,
community, and Midway Co-op staff came together to celebrate with a smokie
lunch on June 17. The $150,000 cheque was presented to SCC member, Alicia
Richels, by Midway Co-op general manager, Nick Koroluk.
The funds
will be used to upgrade the school playground with new equipment and
accessibility features.
Alicia
Richels and her fellow SCC members submitted the grant application earlier this
year. The program distributes $2 million dollars across Canada, and LeRoy
School was one of two schools in the country to receive the maximum grant
amount of $150,000.
Congratulations
to the school and community of LeRoy, and thanks to Federated Co-op for their support!
