– During the Saskatchewan School Boards Association (SSBA) Fall General Assembly, held November 12-14, 2017, Mathieu Mihalicz was presented with the SSBA's 2017 Technical/Trade Program Scholarship. Mathieu graduated from Raymore School in the spring of 2017 and is currently enroled in the Automotive Service Tech program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Recipients of this scholarship are selected on the basis of demonstrated good character, community leadership, and a 500-word essay.
"I'd like to thank my teachers for helping me out when I needed it the most at school," says Mathieu, "and, most importantly, I'd like to thank my parents for raising me to be the person I am today."
"I extend my congratulations to Mathieu on behalf of everyone in Horizon School Division,' says Kevin C. Garinger, Director of Education. "Mathieu is very deserving of this recognition and his achievements are a perfect example of why we are so proud of each and every student in our schools."
Each year, the SSBA offers two education scholarships of $2,500 each to graduating high school students who remain in Saskatchewan in post-secondary study. One scholarship is awarded to a student entering a degree program in Saskatchewan and one scholarship is awarded to a student entering a technical/trade program.
